When a woman loses her husband in India she is often left destitute. She is put in a situation without a home or the means to feed or look after her children. Some women have no other choice than to abandon their children, although some live on the streets with their families.
Aid-2-India International offers the opportunity of a new life through the Support Program for Widows. We provide accommodation and training in a new occupation such as tailoring and/or craft work.
We have qualified trainers helping these women back to a life of dignity and independence so that they can care for their families. The restoring of a woman's dignity through training opens up a new world of opportunity to the whole family.
We have found at Aid-2-India International that when women rise up in this new found independence that they are often the first to help others who are in need.
